Why This Service Matters
Is your sump running all night, or did it stop just when you needed it? A sump pump is the last line on most interior systems and the only line on some older Barrie homes. When it fails during a melt, the basement takes the water. Homeowners look for pumps most in late winter and after heavy rain — that is when tired units show themselves.
We install new pits, replace worn pumps and add battery or water-powered backups where the risk warrants it. A finished basement without a backup is one outage away from a soaked carpet, so it is worth thinking through before the next storm.
A working pump is far simpler than a restoration invoice. Replacing a tired unit before March is one of the highest-value visits we make, and it gives you peace of mind through melt.
On an interior waterproofing job the pump is not optional. The drain has to have a collection point that can move Barrie melt. We size that for your home, not a generic hardware-store special sitting in a cracked pit.
Discharge has to leave the property. A hose that dumps at the foundation is why some working pumps still flood the same corner. We treat the discharge as part of the install, not an afterthought.
If the pump runs constantly, the problem may be an undersized unit, a failed check valve, or weeping tile that is collapsed. We check that before we only swap the motor, so you can make sure the new pump is solving the right issue.

How We Complete the Work
We look at the existing pit, the check valve and where the water goes when the pump kicks on. If it lands next to the wall, that is the first thing we correct.
A new pit gets a proper liner, a pump matched to lift and flow, and a lid you can still open to test.
Backups are recommended on finished space and on homes that sit wet in melt. We explain battery versus water-powered in plain terms so you can choose what fits.
Barrie has a city rebate for certain sump and foundation-drain disconnections from the sanitary sewer. That is not a waterproofing grant. If it applies, we help you with invoices and photos after the City confirms you are eligible.
